Day 2: Russell, Bay of Islands
Take a step back in time as you explore this historical haven at your own pace today. Suffused with a romantic idyll, as you stroll around the charming township you’ll see that New Zealand’s colonial history has been beautifully preserved. Consider a walk up to the top of Maiki Hill for panoramic views of the city and bay below, or perhaps a visit to the Maori museum for a cultural education. Be sure to stop in at one of the many delectable restaurants, including the Gables, New Zealand’s oldest restaurant that showcases flavourful local produce, in particular fresh seafood.
Day 3: Russell, Bay of Islands
Today you’ll take to the water on an unforgettable sailing adventure. Enjoy the private use of Cool Change, a 54 ft catamaran, for a day charter around the turquoise seas of the Bay of Islands. Meet your capable crew at a nearby beach or jetty of your choice, and embark on a full day of seafaring explorations. Regular stops among the islands allow plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch and to partake in myriad of active pursuits, including kayaking, swimming or exploring the many sparkling beaches. Your seasoned skipper will choose a course to take advantage of the day’s weather and focus on what you’d most like to get out of your day, whether it be calm cruising, island-hopping or active adventure.
Return to your private villa in the evening and unwind in your luxurious haven as the sun sets.

Today, Russell is your oyster. Those with an artistic inclination will enjoy touring the many galleries that dot the township. If you’re feeling active, embark on one of the nearby hikes and treks for an immersive exploration of the natural beauty that surrounds you. Or, indulge in an epicurean discovery with a visit to one of the nearby wineries, with the greater Bay of Islands home to plethora of luscious local drops. Of course, there’s always the option to simply sit back, relax and revel in the comfort of your villa and the beachside luxe.
Day 5: Depart Russell, Bay of Islands
